Original vintage propaganda poster promoting youth sports in the Soviet Union featuring a dynamic design of sport teams marching in a line with young athletes in uniform holding flags and banners above an image of a runner crossing the finish line inside a red Soviet star over an industrial steel grey cog with illustrations of other sports including cross country skiing, rifle shooting, hurdles, cycling and hockey; the blue ribbon in front reading "Ready for Labour and Defence" and the text on the sides including a quote by the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin (1878-1953). Poster Newspaper No 34. This is the top portion of a two sheet poster. Horizontal. Fair condition, restored tears, creases, staining, fold marks, tape on left margin, pencil marks, one half of larger poster, stamp dated 1932.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
