Original vintage World War Two poster - Work on a farm ... this Summer Join the US Crop Corps See your U.S. Employment Service or your local county agent - featuring an image by the American commercial artist Spencer Douglass Crockwell (1904-1968) of two volunteer farmers wearing worker dungarees and straw hats against a blue sky background, the man holding a pitchfork and the young lady holding a basket of vegetables with the bold text above and below. Civilians on the home front were encouraged to join the United States Department of Agriculture USDA Crop Corps (1943-1947) to help with the labour shortages on farming fields, even creating camps for young teenage workers. Published by the United States Government Printing Office. Good condition, folds, tears, minor creasing.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
