Original antique travel poster - The Weald of Kent Southern Railway - featuring scenic artwork by Donald Maxwell (1877-1936) depicting a windmill with trees, a church and cottages in a village below the fields, traditional Kent oast houses / hop kilns on the side with the steam from a train visible in front of the hills in the distance, the bold title text in outlined green lettering on the margins above and below with more text reading - Come with me to Headcorn and stand by the old mill, a veritable cameo of Merrie England still harnessing the winds and defying change, and I will show you a landscape such as will sweep the cobwebs from your brain. The village below, with its ancient church and half-timbered vicarage, the oasthouses, those true castles of Kent, nestling in the trees... and beyond it all. It is also within easy reach of the many charming holiday resorts along the Kent Coast - with the train services, fares and timetable information. More information about our posters and service.

Are your posters originals?

All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
