Original vintage travel advertising poster for a winter sport and skiiing event - Alitalia linea aerea ufficiale Campionate del mondo SCI alpino Val Gardena Italia Alitalia official airline Alpine Ski World Championships 6-15 February 1970 - featuring a great design depicting an image of a plane formed by two skis and arms flowing out like wings with the ski poles as the speed lines of flight against the dark and light blue shaded background with flags of the participating countries on the lower ski and snow topped mountains on the wings, the FISI coat of arms logo on the side and the FIS 1970 Olympic Rings logo above the Alitalia sponsorship text, the main title text in bold blue and black lettering across the bottom. The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1970 was won by France with Switzerland in second place and Austria in third place. Val Gardena is located in the Dolomites mountain range in the South Tyrol region of Northern Italy. Good condition, printed on shiny paper, creasing, tears.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
