The Legend Of Till Ullenspiegel Charles De Coster
Original vintage movie poster for a two part Soviet film The Legend of Till / Легенда о Тиле directed by Aleksandr Alov and Vladimir Naumov based on the 1867 novel The Legend of Till Ullenspiegel and Lamme Goedzak set during the 16th Reformation period of witch hunts by the Belgian novelist Charles De Coster (1827-1879). Great design featuring images divided by a pair of crossed medieval pole axes of the orphan Thyl played by Lembit Ulfsak riding a donkey with his friend Lamme played by Evgeniy Leonov walking towards the viewer, an illustration of a person lit up by a candle above, the title in bold stylised lettering on a decorative background below. A 1510 German chapbook about the adventures of the folk hero prankster Till Eulenspiegel (translating as Owl Mirror or Glass) who uses practical jokes to expose vices is set in the early 14th century and is thought to be based on earlier folklore from Lower Saxony. Good condition, tears, creasing, staining.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
