This 178 kilometre race held during Cody's European Tour was won by Fournier and Gaby. Due changing his name, the notable showman SF Cody was often confused with Buffalo Bill Cody; he was also an aviator and early aeronautics pioneer, known for working on the 1904 Cody War Kite manned flying machine used by the British for artillery spotting and, in 1908, he was the first man to fly an aeroplane built in Britain.
