Original vintage motorsport poster for the 7th Rouen les Essarts Grand Prix and the 4th Delamare Deboutteville Cup on 12 July 1959 - Septieme Grand Prix Rouen les Essarts 4me Coupe Delamare Deboutteville avec le patronage de Paris Normandie L'Action Automobile et de L'Equipe - featuring a great motor racing design depicting the driver in a stylised classic red Formula One sportscar looking behind him at the other racing drivers in sports cars on the track behind him, the spire of the historic Rouen Cathedral and other city buildings in the distance with the bold black and blue text diagonally below, framed with a stylised impression of spectators on the blue sky background above. The 5,543 km / 3,444 mi Rouen-Les-Essarts street motor racing circuit near Rouen in Normandy France opened in 1950; the 1959 event was won by Stirling Moss in a Cooper T45 followed by Harry Schell in second place and Masten Gregory in third place. Very good condition, folds, minor staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
