Original vintage British European Airways BEA travel poster advertising flights to Rome Italy. Great design by Hugh Casson (1910-1999) featuring the ancient Roman Coliseum against a clear blue sky with people sitting on a bench and walking around outside, a plane flying overhead with the title text and BEA logo below. BEA was a British airline that operated services from 1946-1974, merging with BOAC then forming part of British Airways. Printed in England by The Baynard Press. Good condition, restored paper losses in margin, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
