Original vintage Dutch World War Two anti-communist propaganda poster - Bolshevism Is Murder / Bolsjewisme Is Moord! - showing a scared lady screaming with her hands held up to her face, kneeling next to a child and a man with his arms tied in rope lying in their red blood against the yellow background, a broken crucifix cross next to them symbolising the destruction of traditional Christian values and social order under Bolshevik rule, the image set on a black background with the bold text in yellow and red letters. Issued as part of a Nazi-led campaign to instil fear of the Soviet Union and encourage collaboration in the Netherlands with Nazi Germany. Printed by the Departement van Volksvoorlichting en Kunsten / Department of Popular Education and Arts. Good condition, restored tears, restored folds, restored paper losses, minor staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
