Indonesia Dutch East Indies Shall Be Freed WWII
Original vintage World War Two poster issued towards the end of the war in the UK to be displayed in the Netherlands - Indie Moet Vrij! Werkt En Vecht Ervoor! / The Indies shall be freed! Work and fight for it! - featuring a great design by the notable British artist Pat Keely (Patrick Cokayne Keely, d. 1970) depicting a yellow octopus with a Japanese rising sun flag at its head, spreading its tentacles across the Dutch colonies in South East Asia. (A similar poster in France apparently showed Churchill as the octopus.) Good condition, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
