Original vintage World War Two poster - Heat Ruins Ammunition Keep All Ammunition Cool - featuring a dynamic design by the notable British graphic designer Abram Games (Abraham Gamse; 1914-1996) depicting bullets, a bomb and a weapons crate showing the various effects of heat damage with annotated details highlighting the potential failures on the side - Exudation of filling / Paint blistered. Markings obliterated / Markings obliterated / Wood warping and split. Labels curling off - with a stylised sun and rays above and the bold title text on the right hand side and below. One of a set of three posters designed by the artist; the others being Damp Ruins Ammunition and Neglect Ruins Ammunition. Printed for HM Stationery Office by the Whitwell Press. Horizontal. Good condition, restored folds, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
