Original vintage folding travel poster map of the French Alps - One Map, Eight Itineraries issued by the French Government’s National Tourist Office / Direction Générale du Tourisme. The foldout features images titled Old Alpine Costumes, featuring four distinct colour illustrations of local men and women in traditional regional attire from Fontcouverte, Bourg St-Maurice, St Jean-d'Arves, and Megève. The panels surrounding the costumes outline specific alpine winter and summer driving itineraries, such as the historic Route Napoléon and the Route des Grandes Alpes, accompanied by detailed blue-monochrome sectional route maps and bilingual descriptive travel texts. The reverse features a detailed, large topographical map of the French Alpine region bounded by Lake Geneva / Lac Léman at the top down to the Mediterranean Sea / Mer Méditerranée and Nice at the bottom, mapping altitudes and glaciers, highlighted by an intricate golden road network detailing mountain passes, with a comprehensive travel legend.
