See Scotland Scott Country Eildon Hills

£1,450.00

Original vintage travel poster - See Scotland's Scott Country by Scottish Omnibuses Coach Tours - featuring a scenic landscape painting by the renowned Scottish artist James McIntosh Patrick (1907-1998) depicting Scott's View looking over a dramatic horseshoe bend on the River Tweed with the water rushing through the green countryside valley fields past trees, the three peaks of the Eildon Hills rock formations in the distance below a lightly cloudy blue sky background, the bold text on the margin. Scott's View is located on the Scottish Borders and is named after the notable 19th century historian, novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832) who used to stop at this point to enjoy his favourite view. Scottish Omnibuses Ltd was founded by the British Transport Commission in 1949 and operated extensive motor coach tours through the Scottish Borders and the Scott Country area in south east Scotland. Published by the British Transport Commission in Scotland. Very good condition, staining, small repaired tears, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
