Original vintage Aeroflot travel advertising poster - Europe via Moscow Аэрофлот Soviet Airlines - featuring a great mid-century modern design depicting a colourful illustration of the iconic Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin with its clock and red star at the top, and the onion domes of the historic Saint Basil’s Cathedral on Red Square in front of the outlines of recognisable buildings representing countries in Europe including the Eiffel Tower in Paris France and the Houses of Parliament in London England on a blue background with a jet plane flying above and the bold text on the side and below with the winged hammer and sickle Aeroflot logo. Aeroflot was founded in 1923 as the state-owned flag carrier enterprise of the USSR; this Cold War era campaign aimed to promote Moscow Russia as a strategic transit hub bridging Europe with other global destinations. Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
