The Compagnie de Navigation Mixte (CNM) shipping company was founded in Marseilles in 1850 by the shipping agent Louis Arnaud and bankers the Touche brothers primarily providing cargo and passenger shipping services between France and North Africa; the company suffered losses during World War Two and the Algerian War of Independence; in 1969 it merged with the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique (CGT aka Transat and French Line) to form the Compagnie Generale Transmediterraneenne (CGTM); the company stopped operating in 1981 and was taken over by Paribas in 1996. What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
