Original vintage travel poster - Visit La Paz Fly Trans Mar de Cortes - featuring a pictorial map of the Baja Peninsula with illustrations of various fish, birds and other animals as well as the tourist activities including whale sharks, starfish, seahorses, an octopus, lobster and turtle, seals, a goat and deer, with sailing and speed boats, a holiday maker water skiing, a pirate and treasure chest, trees and cactus plants, a factory and old buildings with La Paz and other places marked, the title text in stylised red lettering above the image, framed by palm trees and colourful flowers with the rest of the text below a deep sea diver on the left, fruit on the right and an open pearl oyster shell. The Trans Mar de Cortes airline was founded in 1947 providing mail and cargo services, and passenger services on the tourism route from 1949; the airline became part of Aeronaves de Mexico in 1960. La Paz is the capital city of the Baja California Sur peninsula in north west Mexico. Printed in Mexico by Cuauhtemoc. Good condition, small restored paper loss in bottom left corner, light fold, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
