Original vintage travel advertising poster for the historical 16th century Grade I listed Tudor manor house Sawston Hall located in Sawston village in Cambridgeshire England described in stylised text as the "scene of Mary Tudor's escape in 1553" and containing "the finest priests' hiding hole in England, magnificent Elizabethan furniture and panelling, family pictures and other treasures" with artwork showing the Hall from the outside framed by red theatre curtains with a raised arms emblem in the sky above, a drawer displaying a quill pen and parchments, the queen dressed in black in the Grand Hall on the right and a priest in the hiding hole in the bottom left corner next to the text with a red Tudor rose on the tiled floor below. Artwork by Theodore Ramos (1928-2018). Printed by J. & R. Publicity. Good condition, folds, creasing, pinholes, paper skimming, repaired tears, minor staining.

Are your posters originals?

All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity. 

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
