Original antique French Railways train travel advertising poster for motor car tours - Chemins de Fer de Paris a Orleans & de l'Etat Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau Circuits Automobiles de la Cie d'Orleans au Depart de Tours - featuring a stunning design by Constant Duval (1877-1956) depicting a couple and a dog walking towards the historic 16th century castle along the Indre river (a tributary of the Loire river) with the autumn leaves on the trees reflected on the calm water, the stylised text on the margin above and below. Built in the Renaissance architecture style, the Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau is one of over 300 chateaus in the Loire Valley in France. Printed by Champenois, Paris. Good condition, restored tears, restored creasing, restored folds, staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
