Original vintage post-World War Two map poster for Kent Battle of Britain 1940-1941 featuring a colourful design by Ernest Costain Clegg (1876-1954) of the county in south east England with illustrations of notable tourist locations including the historic Archbishopric of Canterbury cathedral City of Canterbury and coats of arms for Chatham, Maidstone and the Cinque Ports of Sandwich, Hythe, Dover, Hastings and New Romney as well as information on the successful evacuation from Dunkirk with a view of the White Cliffs of Dover and battleship at sea, British farms, industry, agriculture and food including markets, gardening, cattle, fruit, plantations, hops, orchards, dairy, sheep and oyster beds, and a quote by Winston Churchill dated 20 August 1940 - The gratitude of every home in our island, in our Empire and indeed throughout the world, except in the abodes of the guilty, goes out to the British airmen who, undaunted by odds, unwearied in their constant challenge and mortal danger, are turning the tide of the world war by prowess and by their devotion. Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
