Original vintage travel poster for London by British European Airways BEA featuring great design by John Bainbridge (1918-1978) depicting a black and white illustration of a smiling police officer in uniform pointing up at a colourful image of a soldier from the Mounted Band of the Household Cavalry playing the trumpet on a white horse on Horse Guards Parade with a plane flying overhead on the blue sky background, the title in red above and winged BEA logo in yellow below. British European Airways was a British airline operating services within the UK and to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East from 1946 to 1974 when it merged with BOAC to form British Airways. Excellent condition.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
