Original vintage winter sport poster for The Republic Skiing Championship for individuals and teams / Republikas Meistarsacikstes Sleposana held in Cesis from 11-15 February 1948 with the best skiers and teams of Dinamo, Spartaks, Daugava, Labour Reserves, Army Officers' House and the Sports Club of the Institute of Physical Culture competing, organised by the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of the Council of Ministers of the Latvian SSR. Great design featuring a dynamic image of a skier skiing downhill at speed with the title above, programme of events listed on the side, and slogan below - Get on skis! / Visi uz slepem! The old town of Cesis is located in north east Latvia in the Vidzeme Highland / Central Vidzeme Upland. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
