Original vintage Soviet space propaganda poster celebrating the first human to travel into outer space, Yuri Gagarin (1934-1968), featuring an illustration of the young Major Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin wearing military uniform with the orbital flight path of the Vostok-1 spacecraft around the globe of the earth on the dark, starry sky background, title in bold letters above - Soviet Man in Space / Советский Человек В Космосе - with photographs of the launch vehicle and interior navigation dashboard of the Vostok cockpit capsule next to a biography of the famous pilot and cosmonaut and text commemorating the monumental historic flight achieved on 12 April 1961. Design by Lesegri, the collective name and pseudonym of three Soviet graphic artists Boris Lebedev, Leonard Sergeev and Mark Grinberg. Good condition, restored tears, restored pinholes, small restored paper losses, minor staining, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
