Marching To Their Own Destruction Judas Trotsky
Original vintage Soviet propaganda poster - They are Marching to Their Own Destruction! / Шагают к гибели своей! - featuring a dramatic design by the renowned satirical artist Viktor Deni (Viktor Nikolaevich Denisov; 1893-1946) depicting two large caricatures of men in military uniform of Nazi Germany wearing a steel helmet / Stahlhelm and swastika armband and Imperial Japan wearing glasses and an officers hat, both holding a black bomb labelled Война / War in their outstretched arms while trampling on international treaties, following the direction of a caricature of the Russian revolutionary and Soviet politician Leon Trotsky (1879-1940) wearing a black jacket marked Иуда Троцкий / Judas Trotsky holding a flaming torch in one hand and pointing towards the Soviet Union with the title and a satirical poem by Demyan Bedny (1883-1945) above: The beard of Judas Trotsky is wet with mad saliva. This vile bastard is a godsend for the fascists, raving about war: "Here, here's your sure prey, so declare war on her!" Judas hisses, pointing a finger at our mighty country. We keep a watchful eye on our enemies. They are mad, by God! They march with animal steps to their doom. We will deprive the fascists of their aplomb, squeezing them in a deadly vice. A bomb of a completely different colour will scatter them all to pieces. / Иуды Троцкого бородка Обмокла бешеной слюной. FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
