Original vintage World War Two recruitment poster issued by the Royal Air Force - Progress with the RAF Join The Regular Air Force - featuring dynamic midcentury artwork by the notable British graphic designer Tom Eckersley (1914-1997) depicting a Gloster Meteor plane flying at speed on a pale blue arrow with the text in bold lettering diagonally above and below. Manufactured from 1943-1955 the pioneering Gloster Meteor aircraft was Britain's first jet fighter and the only Allied jet fighter used in air combat during WWII. Printed for HM Stationery Office by Waterlow and Sons Ltd. Horizontal. Good condition, staining, repaired tears, creasing, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
