Original vintage Soviet cinema poster for the 1929 USSR release of the German silent drama film Мёртвая петля (Death Loop / Looping the Loop, original title Die Todesschleife, 1928), featuring a striking Constructivist avant-garde design by the renowned Soviet graphic designers and artists, the Stenberg Brothers (Vladimir, 1899-1982; Georgii, 1900-1933). The poster features a sombre clown in a purple coat and bowler hat standing against a dark background, with a dynamic intersecting crimson ribbon looping around a pilot and a lady. Published and printed by Sovkino. Good condition, folds, creasing, tears, paper losses on edges, minor staining.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
