The Captain's Daughter Dlugach
Original vintage Soviet cinema poster for the 1928 historic drama Капитанская дочка / The Captain's Daughter, directed by Yuri Tarich based on the famous novel by Alexander Pushkin and produced by Sovkino. The poster features a Constructivist design by renowned graphic artist Mikhail Dlugach (1893-1988) depicting an intense, close-up portrait of the rebel leader Yemelyan Pugachev staring forward with fierce, dark eyes against a vibrant red background, flanked by full-body illustrations of the film's primary characters in period attire, including a gentleman in a deep blue coat on the left and an Imperial military officer in a green and white uniform on the right, with shadowed horsemen outlined against a dark backdrop, the title above in yellow lettering, and credits and production notes at the bottom, bearing the official label of the Sovkino studio. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses, folds, creasing, staining, 2 sheet poster backed on linen.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
