Original vintage Soviet constructivist avant-garde movie poster advertising the 1928 USSR release of the German silent detective drama Life for a Life / Жизнь за жизнь (original title Dagfin, English title Souls Aflame 1926), directed by Joe May and starring Marcella Albani, Paul Richter and Paul Wegener. The poster designed by Nikolai Prusakov (1900-1952) and Grigory Borisov (1899-1942) spotlights the star power of celebrated Italian actress Marcella Albani, depicted lounging in a glamorous mint-green gown and a luxurious white fur-trimmed wrap. Horizontal. Good condition, restored tears, restored folds, minor staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
