Sporting Fever Stenberg Brothers
Original vintage Soviet constructivist avant-garde movie poster for the silent comedy film Спортивная лихорадка / Sporting Fever, created in 1928 by the legendary design duo, the Stenberg Brothers (Vladimir, 1899-1982; Georgii, 1900-1933). The poster features a stylised cyclist wearing a patterned cap and grey shirt, performing an off-balance trick on a bicycle with a small dog leaping from behind and nipping at the rider's shirt, set against a green background. Sporting Fever is a famous Soviet silent stunt comedy in 6 parts, directed by Alfred Dobbelt and Boris Nikiforov and starring Boris Nikiforov. The bottom right corner showcases the iconic circular emblem of the Soviet film distributor СОВКИНО / Sovkino. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses, restored creasing, staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
