Original vintage Italian film poster for the 1952 movie Moulin Rouge, directed by John Huston, the poster lists lead actors Jose Ferrer, Suzanne Flon, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Colette Marchand. Design by Ercole Brini (1907-1989), a renowned poster artist known for his vibrant, painterly style, features an impressionistic, multi-paneled design that captures the atmosphere of bohemian Paris, with a high-energy depiction of a French Cancan dancer in a voluminous pink and white dress, performing alongside a male dancer in pink trousers, a solitary woman in a blue gown standing under a glowing streetlamp on a cobbled Parisian street, and a large expressive portrait of a blonde woman gazing downward with a pesive expression, seated next to an artist's palette and a bottle, referencing the life of the painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
