Original antique movie poster for the Swedish release of a now lost romantic drama, the 1918 American silent film about World War One - The Greatest Thing in Life / Det Storsta I Livet - directed by D. W. Griffith and starring Lillian Gish in the lead role as Jeannette Peret with Robert Harron and David Butler. Fantastic design depicting a stylised image of a lady's face with dramatic black lined eyes and lips and her swirling hair in yellow and black, the title and credit text with star designs below. The popular and notable American actress Lillian Diana Gish (1893-1993), whose acting career spanned 75 years from silent films to television and stage work (1912-1988), is ranked one of the greatest female Hollywood movie stars and was named by Vanity Fair as First Lady of the Screen in 1927; she often worked with the influential American film director David Wark Griffith (1875-1948), who co-founded the United Artists film studio in 1919. What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
