The Grande Saison \/ Grand Season from mid-April to June opened with the Concourse Hippiques \/ Equestrian Competitions horse show held in the Palais de Industrie on the Champs Elysees; patrons would view artist sculptures, paintings and decorative art at the opening, enjoy the latest fashions on display, and the French Grand Prix would end the programme of events; French high society would then leave Paris for the holidays, moving to the countryside and coast for the summer season.
