£950.00

Original vintage travel advertising poster - All over the world BOAC takes good care of you - featuring artwork by Angelo Cesselon (1922-1992) showing four airline stewardesses wearing different smart uniforms and caps, smiling to the viewer with the text and stylised plane image above.  There are four regional crew styles shown from left to right: India, a flight attendant wearing a traditional, elegant sari; Hong Kong / Chinese Services, a flight attendant wearing a classic white cheongsam (qipao) featuring a stylized matching side cap; Japan, a flight attendant dressed in a traditional patterned kimono; Great Britain, a flight attendant positioned at the front wearing BOAC’s standard, classic navy-blue tailored western uniform paired with a signature peaked quarter-cap. (The British Overseas Airways Corporation / BOAC was the British state airline created in 1940-1946 as the result of a merger, introducing the world's first passenger jets to its service in 1952 and merging again in 1971-1974 to create British Airways / BA.) Good condition, light bumps on margins, repaired tears.

FAQs

More information about our posters and service.

Are your posters originals?

All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
