Original vintage Soviet travel and film advertising poster for UNICA-78, the International Congress and Film Festival of Amateur Films / Международный конгресс и кинофестиваль любительских фильмов, which took place in Baku, USSR (now Azerbaijan) from 21 to 30 September 1978. The poster features a dark silhouette of a filmmaker in the foreground looking through a vintage movie camera at a coastal promenade with trees and the iconic Maiden Tower / Qız Qalası historic monument standing prominently against a pale background, with the branches of a tree in bloom in the foreground under an elegant, ornate blue and gold oriental archway. The UNICA Festival is an annual international non-commercial and amateur film competition and congress organised by the Union Internationale du Cinéma (UNICA) since 1931. Very good condition, minor creasing, minor staining, small tears.

What is a lithograph?

Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
