Original antique drink advertising poster for Birra Doppio Malto S. Giusto produced for the Fabbrica Dreher brewery in Trieste Italy featuring a bright Art Deco design depicting a mirror image of two elegant ladies in black cloaks, each holding a bottle of the premium double malt beer in their arms, with a view of the historic Romanesque San Giusto Cathedral / Cattedrale di San Giusto and the Column with the Halberd in Trieste in the centre, the same image on the beer bottle labels, the bold text in white below all set on a red background. The Trieste beer factory was opened in 1865; the Austrian Dreher brewing family bought and developed the brewery, expanding production during the 1920s and 1930s; in 1974 the brand became part of the Dutch multinational Heineken group, and the factory was demolished in the 1980s. Printed by the Istituto Italiano d'Arti Grafiche in Bergamo. Very good condition, small repaired tears, minor staining, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
