Original vintage National Academy of Sciences (NAS) poster - Weather & Climate "The air moves like a river and carries the clouds with it." Da Vinci - from a series of six posters created in 1958 by the artist Herbert Danska, depicting two silhouettes in white pouring water droplets into the sea with the bold title text and quote next to the dark clouds and swirling pink hair of the lady above, the sea waves below a green sphere of the earth in the centre as a globe with small inset photographs and images in black and white along the bottom showing and outline map of the United States with a glacier between mountains, a scientist standing on snow and ice, and scientific experiments including monitoring wind and pressure. The American nonprofit, non-governmental organization National Academy of Sciences was formed in 1863. A National Academy of Sciences Project IGY Under grants from the National Science Foundation and The Ford Foundation. Large size. Good condition, creasing, tears on edges.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
