Original antique art exhibition poster for the Drawn and Painted Works of T.A. Steinlen held from 10 April 10 to 15 May 1894 at La Bodiniere 18 Rue Saint Lazare in Paris France featuring stunning artwork of the iconic cats by the notable Art Nouveau painter and printmaker Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen (1859-1923) depicting a black cat sitting up next to a stripy ginger cat looking round to the viewer with the text on the side and his TAS initials above - A La Bodiniere 18 rue S Lazare Exposition de l'oeuvre dessine et peint de T. A. Steinlen - a similar image of these cats also feature in his 1894 work titled Lait Pur Sterilise de la Vingeanne. This first exhibition helped established Steinlen as a major artist in Paris. Horizontal. Good condition, repaired tears, small paper losses, folds, minor staining, backed on old linen.

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
