Original antique theatre poster advertising Nom d'une Pipe! Opera comique en trois actes de G. Duval Musique de Ch. Cuvillier / Name Of A Pipe! Comic opera in three acts by the playwright Georges Duval (1847-1919) with music composed by Charles Cuvillier (1877-1955) performed at the Palais Royal Palace in Paris in 1918 featuring an actress wearing a dress with feathers in her hat and holding a cane stick in one hand and a pipe in her other hand, standing above a city skyline with flowing billows of smoke on a theatre stage framed by the curtains with the stylised lettering below. Large size. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, restored creasing, staining, foxing, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography. 

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
