My Goodness My Guinness Seal Circus
Rare original vintage advertising poster for Guinness Irish dry stout beer - My Goodness My Guinness. The poster designed by Dick Wilkinson (Wilk) shows a surprised sea lion balancing on a large circus ball while watching a circus trainer or ringmaster expertly walk past with a perfect pint of Guinness balanced on his own nose. This design style was originally popularized by the legendary English commercial illustrator John Gilroy, who created iconic Guinness animals starting in the 1930s after being inspired by a sea lion at the circus balancing a ball on its nose. Excellent condition, faint staining.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
