Original vintage London Underground poster - The Tube Gallery Many posters available at the London Transport Museum Covent Garden Nearest stations: Covent Garden and Leicester Square - featuring four posters for the Underground: The Tate Gallery by Tube depicting the colourful tube map lines as paint from a tube marked with the London Underground logo; The New Kew by Tube with floral artwork; a busy street scene at night with people, buses and classic cars at Piccadilly Circus with a theatre sign in the foreground; and the iconic Brightest London is best reached by London Underground poster design (issued in 1924) depicting smartly dressed people in fashionable clothing and top hats travelling on an escalator. Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
