Original antique London Transport poster for London's Tramways Polo at Avery Hill Monday, Wednesday & Friday afternoons by Tramway to Eltham featuring a great design by Francis Howard Spear (1902-1979) of three polo players on their horses on a stylised grass background, framed in a black line border with the title in black lettering below. London County Council Tramways operated from 1899 to 1933 when they became part of the London Passenger Transport Board. Printed by Waterlow and Sons Limited London, Dunstable and Watford. Good condition, restored pinholes, staining, browning, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
