Liberal Party Rich Taxation Lloyd George Dwyfor

£550.00

Original antique political election propaganda poster issued by the Liberal Party - A Little Omission - featuring a man wearing a suit with the British pound sterling and shillings symbols on his front and holding a piece of chalk in his hand after writing graffiti on a wall - We want EIGHT and we won't wait - running away from a man depicted as the Welsh Liberal statesman David Lloyd George 1st Earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor OM PC (1863-1945; Prime Minister 1916-1922) correcting it to read - We want EIGHT and we won't wait to pay - with the text as quotes below - Lloyd-George (to Rich Boy running away): Hi! You've forgotten to finish it! [The quote is based on the popular Navalist slogan at the time referring to the demand for eight new dreadnought ships to be built; the Naval Arms Race from 1906-1914 resulted in the UK building 19 new ships and Germany building 17.] Published by the Liberal Publication Department. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd. The Westminster Gazette. Horizontal. Good condition, folded, creasing, minor foxing, restored tears.

FAQs

More information about our posters and service.

Are your posters originals?

All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.

What is a lithograph?

Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.

With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
