How The Hun Hates WWI
Original antique World War One poster - How The Hun Hates! - featuring a design by David Wilson (1873-1935) depicting an image of captured British fishermen being publicly humiliated with half their heads shaved, walking past a crowd of jeering German civilians and men in military uniform including a caricature of Kaiser Wilhelm II, led by two Imperial German Navy sailors holding bayonet rifle guns and wearing caps marked SMS (Seiner Majestat Schiff / His Majesty's Ship), the bold title above and rest of the text in black and red below - The Huns captured some of our fishermen in the North Sea and took them to Sennelager. They charged them without a shred of evidence with being mine layers. They ordered them to be punished without a trial. That punishment consisted in shaving all the hair off one side of the head and face. The Huns then marched their victims through the streets and exposed them to the jeers of the German populace. British sailors! Look! Read! And Remember! Printed by The Dangerfield Printing Co., Ltd., London. Good condition, folds, repaired tears, minor staining, backed on linen.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
