Original vintage cruise ship travel poster advertising Atlantic island tours on the pleasure steamer Oceana with the Hamburg America Steamship Company from 10 September to 5 October 1930 - Atlantische Inselfahrt mit dem Vergnugungsreisen-Dampfer Oceana Hamburg-Amerika Linie - featuring colourful artwork by the German painter and poster artist Ottomar Anton (1895-1976) showing ladies with a donkey next to a palm tree in front of a building and people next to a wooden boat, the steam ship moored at sea in the background and the bold text in yellow on blue banners above and below. Printed by Habuva Dorschel and v. Witzleben Hannover. Good condition, restored tears, restored folds, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
