Original vintage Guinness advertising poster - Guinness for Strength - featuring a great illustration by Richard Francis Percy Wilkinson (Wilk; b. 1911) depicting a smiling man emerging from a manhole and holding a pint of Guinness with one hand whilst lifting a large green steam roller on top of the cover with his other hand, the driver with moustache and wearing a bow tie with his hat flying off looking on in shock and a rearing horse on the front of the steam roller with 123 HUP on the licence plate, the bold text below in red and green letters. One of the world's most popular beer drink brands, Guinness is an Irish dry stout founded by Arthur Guinness in Dublin in 1759. Printed in Great Britain by John Waddington Ltd., Leeds. c. 1951. Good condition, restored folds, restored paper loss, restored tears, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
