Original vintage drink advertising poster for Guinness - My Goodness a 200th Birthday Label! - featuring a fun and colourful image of some of the iconic Guinness animals looking at a 200 year anniversary bottle of Guinness labelled 1759 1959, including the toucan bird, ostrich with the shape of a pint glass in its throat, seal, kangaroo smiling and clapping, pelican and the zoo keeper with his hat flying off his head, the bold text in red and green above and on the side. Many of these animals created by the English artist John Gilroy (1898-1985) were part of the popular advertising campaigns run by Guinness during the 1930s and 1940s. One of the world's most popular brands of beer drink, Guinness is an Irish dry stout founded by Arthur Guinness in Dublin in 1759. Printed by Mills & Rockleys Production Ltd., Ipswich. Good condition, staining, restored tears, creasing, backed on linen.

Are your posters originals?

What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
