Original vintage advertising poster for the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich London featuring a view inside an historic building with a coat of arms and two large naval paintings of ships at sea on the balcony level and two portraits either side of a globe and a model of a ship below, the stylised text on the bottom margin. The National Maritime Museum was opened 1937 by King George VI with Princess Elizabeth and is the leading maritime museum in the United Kingdom covering 200 acres with over two million objects in its collection (including the 1896-1954 Cutty Sark clipper ship moored on the River Thames at the museum); part of the historic buildings were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Printed by The Baynard Press. Very good condition, small restored paper loss in top right corner, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
