Great Berlin Art Exhibition 1895
Original antique advertising poster for the Grosse Berliner Kunstausstellung / Great Berlin Art Exhibition held from 1 May to 29 September 1895, featuring artwork by the German painter Carl Rochling (1855-1920) depicting an artist holding a paint brush and palette in front of a canvas on an easel against a decorative floral background, the bold stylised title text above and two coat of arms in the corners, one depicting the Berlin bear. The annual Grosse Berliner Kunstausstellung art exhibition was held from 1893 to 1969, with breaks during the World Wars. Good condition, creasing, tears, fold, paper losses, staining.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
