Schreiber Publishing House starting producing cardboard models in 1878. The LZ 127 Deutsches Luftschiff Zeppelin (1928-1937) could carry up to 24 passengers and became the first airship to offer transatlantic flights; it also provided mail services, crossed the Pacific Ocean, flew to the Arctic and was the first airship to fly around the world. Two Junkers G.38 transport planes were built in 1929 and provided commercial services; one crashed in 1938 during a test flight, and the other entered military service and was destroyed during an air raid in 1941.
