Original antique poster advertising the International Maritime Exhibition Bordeaux 1907 / Exposition Maritime Internationale Bordeaux 1907 featuring a great image by Antoine Ponchin (1872-1933) depicting a sailor rowing a fashionably dressed lady in front of a steamship flying colourful flags with other steam and sailing boats on the reflective water in the harbour and the Grand Palais in the background, smaller images of a bridge and the city's coat of arms decorated with flowers in the foreground and the stylised title lettering against the pale blue sky above. 14 countries took part in the first Exposition Maritime Internationale exhibition from May to November 1907, organised by the Ligue Maritime Francais / French Maritime League (name shown on the ship). Good condition, restored folds, restored paper losses, restored tears, ink stamp at top, backed on linen.

What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
