Original vintage alcohol drink advertising poster for the fortified wine based aperitif Dubonnet (since 1846) featuring an iconic illustration by the notable poster artist d'apres A.M. Cassandre (Adolphe Mouron Cassandre; 1901-1968) depicting a stylised design as three images of a man wearing a bowler hat and suit sitting at a small table and pouring himself a drink from a Dubonnet bottle into a full glass of wine with his other arm over the back of the chair, the text below the images running diagonally as the colour forms over the man in white and black against a pink, blue and yellow shaded background - Dubo Dubon Dubonnet vin tonique au quinquina - the text repeated in black and white on the sides and rest of the text divided by the logo below - Grande Chartreuse liqueur fabriquee par les Peres Chartreux (French tonic wine liqueur made by the Carthusian Monks at the Grande Chartreuse monastery since 1737). Are your posters originals?
All our antique and vintage posters, books, maps and prints listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Practically all of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves carving each colour of the image onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, we believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £25 for orders placed via our website.
Can I visit your gallery?
Yes. Our gallery is based in London. Our address is 404 King's Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ.
Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
